Malaysia Airlines Launches Paris As Its Second A380 Route

Malaysia Airlines (MH), the newest member on the oneworld alliance block, has finallly initiated Airbus A380 service on a second route.  The famous double decker plane will now be flying passengers between Paris’ Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and MH’s hub at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL).

MH transitioned the route from a Boeing 777 to the much larger A380 on March 12, adding an additional 212 seats per flight on the route.  MH currently operates six A380s and is only the second oneworld airline to offer passengers access to this aircraft type.  MH’s A380 offers 494 seats in a three cabin configuration – 8 First class, 66 Business class, and 420 in Economy class.

Qantas is currently the only other oneworld airline offering service on the A380.  British Airways is set to become the 3rd operator when they launch A380 service between London’s Heathrow and Los Angeles in mid-October, with the London Heathrow to Hong Kong route to follow a month after.

No other oneworld airlines have made public any plans to begin operating the A380.  So for any alliance loyalists who are looking for a chance to hope on one of these birds, these three airlines are your best bet for the time being!
