The Japan Airlines (JL) refresh of their premium product continues to roll out as the oneworld carrier updates its Japanese language site (not yet reflecting on the English language page for the Americas region) to show they’ll be offering the seat to an additional four cities in the next year. The current scheduled expansion is listed as follows:
- New York John F. Kennedy (JFK) to Tokyo Narita (NRT) starting May 2013
- Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) to NRT starting July 2013
- Los Angeles (LAX) to NRT starting November 2013
- Chicago O’Hare (ORD) to NRT starting January 2014
JL is currently offering the new product on JL401/402 between London Heathrow (LHR) and NRT.
The new Sky Suite product is a nice improvement on JL’s existing business cabin offering. The most notable improvment is the replacement of the existing angled lie-flat business class seats with a fully flat product.
The planes also feature a new first class suite, however the changes to that seat are not as large as those that are occuring with the business class product.
If you’re curious about JL’s other premium cabin offerings, check back here in the new week or two as I’ll be posting a two part review of my business class trip from JFK-NRT-Frankfurt (FRA) with JL.
